This coming weekend, the NIGHT of the JUMPs

This coming weekend, the NIGHT of the JUMPs freestyle motocross stars will be wheeling out their most extravagant tricks on the temporary dirt track in the Stadthalle at Graz (Austria). The 2015 European FMX Championship kicked off last weekend at Linz and was also staged over two evenings.

The two Graz rounds will be contested by riders from three continents. James Carter (USA) will be flying the flag for North America while Steve Sommerfeld will be defending the honour of Australia, a country in which the sport is exceptionally well established. Europe will be represented by a strong contingent of reigning world champion Maikel Melero (ESP), ex-world champion Remi Bizouard (FRA), 2014 world championship runner-up Brice Izzo (FRA) and Jose Miralles (ESP).

Fans in the Stadthalle will also see a certain rider make his debut: Filip Podmol, younger brother of 2010 World Champion Libor Podmol, is getting ready for his first ever outing in NIGHT of the JUMPs. In the open qualifier at Linz last weekend, he gave a foretaste of the tricks he will be performing. Podmol junior failed to make it through to the main field by a single error on his run. He has now been booked by the organisers for Graz and will soon be trying to convince fans that he has what it takes to follow in the footsteps of his illustrious elder brother.
